With Pitt Meadows standing at the cusp of exciting new opportunities in key areas, we are seeking a dynamic leader with outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills and a broad range of experience. Overseeing the City’s Community Services department, the successful candidate will provide managerial and policy advice to the Chief Administrative Officer, staff and Council.
Reporting to and supporting the CAO, this position will play a significant role as part of our senior management leadership team in helping us achieve priorities in alignment with our strategic plan. This role is currently responsible for several key functional areas within our organization, focusing on Development Services (planning, building and bylaw enforcement), but also including Recreation, Parks and Facilities. Depending on the experience of the candidate, the portfolio may shift to align with those strengths.
We are looking for someone with a transparent, team-oriented leadership style and a proven track record who welcomes the challenge of managing change as you carry out and improve on our systems and processes. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a blend of natural leadership and technical skills and strong relationship building qualities. He or she will also have demonstrated progressive experience in relevant areas of municipal government as well as effective administrative and management skills.
The successful candidate will have a university degree in a related discipline, demonstrated five years of progressive experience in a variety of functional areas with effective communication, financial and administrative management skills, or a robust combination of education and career progression. Proven organizational and management ability, within a municipal setting is preferred, but not mandatory.
